The artist, Terry Rothwell, spent many years in the commercial glass industry. His work with colored glass became a passion 25 years ago and continues today. “The variety of colors and the potential for creativity is inspiring and seemingly endless. The result is unique and one of a kind, be it a plate, bowl, or simple art piece.” Rothwell says. Terry is one of our featured Santa Fe Makers.
This beautiful piece of Terry’s glass art, shaped as a square plate, is inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s abstract paintings. Two paintings in particular, Blue II and The Beyond. All pieces in his Further Series were created exclusively for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Store. Each piece varies slightly, within the scope of artistic expression, and is not identical to the photograph.
