Curious About Conservation? Hear from our Conservator!
What is conservation?
Conservation is an integral part of the Museum’s mission to preserve and protect O’Keeffe’s artistic legacy, and it occurs constantly. Usually this scientific detective work takes place in the climate-controlled vault, away from the public eye.
Listen to the O’Keeffe’s Head of Conservation, Dale Kronkright, discuss his journey as a Conservator, how the Museum conserves works of art, and the magic behind restoring and repairing Georgia O’Keeffe’s artwork.
Want to learn more about the science behind paintings? Join us for First Friday on November 1, from 5 to 7 PM.
The O’Keeffe’s Head of Conservation, Dale Kronkright, will be in the Museum Galleries discussing his important work to restore, repair, and conserve works of art in three, 15-minute-lectures at 5:15 PM, 5:45 PM, and 6:15 PM with time for questions and answers.
