Planning Your School Group Visit to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum

The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum offers free school group tours for Pre-K through High School classes.

Advanced reservations are required with a minimum of 2 weeks advance notice.

Tours are approximately 30 minutes for Pre-K to 2nd grade and approximately 45 minutes for 3rd to 12th grade classes.

The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s education department can provide your group with an interdisciplinary hands-on art experience before or after touring the exhibition. The tour and hands-on lesson will take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours total, and are offered on weekdays only. Most of our lessons are conducted at our Education Annex. We may be able to develop a lesson suited to your particular curriculum needs and learning goals.

Group tours can be scheduled starting at 9:00 a.m.  Schools are expected to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled start time.  If your class arrives late, your tour time may be shortened.  If your group arrives ½ hour late your tour may be canceled.  If you are delayed, contact 505.946.1018 and leave a message with the estimated time of arrival.

You are expected to provide one chaperone per five students for grades pre-K to 8 and one chaperone per ten students for grades 9 to 12. Teachers and chaperones need to stay with their assigned student group throughout the tour. Museum admission is free for teachers and the required class chaperones.

All scheduling is based on availability. When calling for a reservation, have a few possible dates and times in mind.

Please complete the school tour application form and return to christina@okeeffemuseum.org. If you have further questions, email Christina or call 505.946.1007.
