Because of the size of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, we must close the Museum galleries during exhibition installations. We apologize for this inconvenience. The next times the galleries will be CLOSED are:
- Monday, February 2, 2009 through Thursday, February 12, 2009; reopening to the public at 10 AM on Friday, February 13, 2009.
- Monday, May 11, 2009 through Thursday, May 21, 2009; reopening to the public at 10 AM on Friday, May 22, 2009.
- Monday, September 14, 2009 through Thursday, September 24, 2009; reopening to the public at 10 AM on Friday, September 25, 2009.
During the times when the galleries are closed, docents offer tours of the Research Center, which houses many of O'Keeffe's personal affects and artifacts. Tours of the Research Center are conducted three times daily at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM, except on Sunday when tours are at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. The price for this tour is $4 for adults and seniors, free for children and youth under 18. Please visit the Museum lobby to sign up for a tour.
In addition when the galleries are closed, a FREE screening of the award-winning film Georgia O'Keeffe by Perry Miller Adato will be shown in the Education Annex, 123 Grant Avenue, at 1 PM daily. In this documentary, O'Keeffe discusses her life and art. (60 minutes)
