The Museum is particularly pleased to have been able to facilitate the making of this film. For much of November 2008, its producers and director worked closely with the Museum curatorial staff on various aspects of the film. Moreover, this staff, along with staff in charge of the Museum's historical properties, accompanied the film's cast and crew when they were at O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch house, as major portions of the film were shot at this historic, Museum-owned property.
Along with Sony and Lifetime, the Museum organized the highly successful, sold-out premiere of the film in Santa Fe on August 28, 2009, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. In attendance were the film's producers, along with Joan Allen and many of the film's other actors, and the event was followed by a reception and auction at the Museum.
